Google has banned yet another Android application! Delete it now or pay a high price later.
As per security professionals at NCC Group, the latest application to hit the Play Store, named “Antivirus, Super Cleaner,”.
It is full of terrible malware known as SharkBot, which may initiate money transfers via Automatic Transfer Systems (ATS).
Money can be shifted between accounts once a device has been infected with this virus, and the user has no idea what's going on.
SharkBot is a very clever piece of malware that uses various devious methods to steal money from users' accounts.
According to NCC Group experts, SharkBot's ATS is an "advanced attack method",
that enables attackers to auto-fill forms in mobile banking apps and conduct money transfers without the need for human participation.
When SharkBot detects that you have launched a banking app, it will replicate the bank's log-in page and send everything you type to the attacker's servers through a keylogger.
SharkBot can also hijack and take complete control of your phone, according to the experts.
How can SharkBot get through the Google Play Store's security measures?
The "Antivirus, SuperCleaner" tool appears to be an antivirus, but it's a trimmed-down version of the SharkBot virus.
When you download and install "Antivirus, SuperCleaner," the full version of the SharkBot Trojan is downloaded. After that, the Trojan gets to work.
